SILVER SPRING (MD)
The Links, Incorporated
Our Chapter
Civic, Education and Cultural Involvement
The Silver Spring, Maryland Chapter was chartered in November, 1972 as the 143rd chapter of The Links, Incorporated. We provide service and support to the Montgomery County community and deliver transformational programming supported by the national organization. Since its chartering, our chapter has grown from the initial “fifteen” to over fifty civic minded, caring women, committed to enriching the lives of others, and continue to exert their mark of dedicated service throughout Montgomery County.
Programs supported by the Silver Spring Chapter include the United Negro College Fund, the Martin Luther King Memorial and NAACP scholarships. The chapter has provided services and partnered with the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) in many projects for several years. In 2008, The NCCF awarded the Silver Spring Chapter, the Volunteer of the Year Award. The chapter developed a program, YEIP, to train high school students to become international entrepreneurs.
